Ecuadorean star Joffre Guerron, voted last season's player of the Copa Libertadores, signed for Spanish La Liga side Getafe from Liga de Quito on a four-year contract on Tuesday.

The 23-year-old midfielder, nicknamed 'dynamite', was inspirational as Liga de Quito won the Copa Libertadores - the South American version of the Champions League - last term.

Guerron is the second recruit in the last few days by last season's UEFA Cup quarter-finalists - who finished a lowly 14th in the title race just five points above the relegation places.

On Sunday they secured the services of young Real Madrid midfielder Esteban Granero on a five year deal.
