Germany striker Stefan Kiessling has signed a two-year extension to his contract and will stay at Bayer Leverkusen until 2012, ruling out any potential switch to Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur.

"I enjoy living in Leverkusen with my family and we are building something good here in the team," the 24-year-old told German agency SID after Premier League side Spurs were reported to have shown an interest.

"In one or two years we will be challenging for the Bundesliga title," said the forward, who joined Bayer from Nuremberg in 2006.

In 51 Bundesliga games, Kiessling has scored 14 goals and won his only cap against Denmark in a friendly in March 2007.

"Stefan's early contract extension is the logical continuation of our club's policy of securing young players on a long-term basis to build a strong side for the future," said Leverkusen director of football Rudi Voller with his side fourth in the league.

Bayer are in UEFA Cup action on Thursday night when they take on German rivals Hamburg in the competition's last 16.
