Red Star Belgrade turn to Sa Pinto
Red Star Belgrade have appointed Portuguese coach Ricardo Sa Pinto in a bid to turn thier disappointing season around, the Serbian club announced on Tuesday.
After a series of poor results, the club parted company with Aleksandar Jankovic by mutual consent.
Sunday's 2-1 defeat to Radnicki Nis has left Red Star 11 points adrift of league leaders and bitter rivals Partizan Belgrade and they are all but out of the title race.
Sa Pinto, 41, capped 45 times by Portugal, spent most of his playing career with Sporting Lisbon but also had stints with Real Sociedad in Spain and in Belgium with Standard Liege.
