PSV Eindhoven winger Luciano Narsingh has been ruled out for up to nine months following a knee operation.

The 22-year-old, who moved to the Philips Stadion from Heerenveen last summer, picked up the injury just before Christmas and faces a lengthy recovery process after going under the knife yesterday.

"Luciano Narsingh will be sidelined for six to nine months after undergoing surgery on a knee problem on Wednesday," read a statement on psv.nl. "The PSV forward suffered cruciate ligament injury and damage in PSV's 1-6 league win over NAC Breda on 22 December."

"Narsingh underwent surgery in the Bergman Clinic in Naarden on Wednesday afternoon. The 22-year-old will now start a long structured rehabilitation programme."
