Apertura champions Tijuana got their Clausura campaign off to a winning start with a 2-1 win at Puebla on Sunday.

Duvier Riascos opened the scoring on the half-hour mark and Cristian Pellerano added a second 10 minutes later.

Roberto Juarez pulled one back on the stroke of half-time, but Puebla could not find an equaliser in the second period.

Toluca, the team Tijuana beat in the Apertura play-off finals, could only manage a 1-1 draw at Guadalajara.

All the action was packed into the last few minutes as Lucas Silva (83) put Toluca ahead before Miguel Sabah (85) levelled and was sent off four minutes later.

The day's other game also finished 1-1, as Martin Bravo (36) gave Unam Pumas the lead against Atlas, who equalised through Omar Bravo 10 minutes from time.
