Jeonbuk close in on leaders Seoul
Lee Donggook netted a brace as Jeonbuk Motors beat Busan IPark 3-0 to move five points behind leaders FC Seoul, who were held to a 1-1 draw at home by nemesis Suwon Bluewings. This year's AFC Champions League finalists Ulsan Hyundai Horangi suffered a 1-0 defeat at home against Pohang Steelers, while Jeju United beat Gyeongnam 2-0 to remain in the hunt for a place on the continental stage next season. Elsewhere, Gangwon escaped from the relegation zone in style, drubbing Daejeon 5-1 at home to move into 14th place.
Big game: Lee Sangho put Suwon ahead with a thunderous strike midway through the first half, but the Bluewings's hopes of claiming an eighth consecutive victory against their fiercest rivals were dealt a blow as defender Yang Sangmin received his marching orders on the stroke of half-time. Substitute Jung Jogook then restored parity with an audacious lob with five minutes remaining.
Headline-grabber: Gangwon captain Kim Eunjung became the eighth player to have made 400 appearances in the K-League, as he scored his side's fifth goal in a 5-1 win over Daejeon on Sunday.
