Honours even for DC, Red Bulls
There were two own goals and a sending off as DC United's MLS Eastern Conference semi-final first leg match against the New York Red Bulls finished deadlocked at 1-1.
United took the lead in the 61st minute courtesy of an own goal from substitute Roy Miller, who sliced a cross into his own net under pressure from Nick DeLeon.
However, within four minutes the home side had gifted the Red Bulls an equaliser when United goalkeeper Bill Hamid fumbled the ball into his own net.
The hosts finished the game with 10 men after Andy Najar was dismissed in the 71st minute following two yellow cards.
