Gremio missed out on the chance to go second in the Brazilian Campeonato after being held to a 0-0 draw at home to Coritiba.

A win would have taken Gremio above Atletico Mineiro in the table, but the draw leaves them a point behind having played a game more.

Elsewhere on Saturday, Corinthians and Bahia drew 1-1, with the home side taking the lead through a 12th-minute penalty from Dos Santos Douglas. Leandro Matos equalised for Bahia on 33 minutes.

In the day's other game, Palmeiras beat Cruzeiro 2-0 thanks a second-half double from Hernan Barcos.
