FC Sankt Gallen replaced FC Sion at the top of the Super League standings after stunning the erstwhile leaders 3-0 in their own back yard.

Marco Mathys struck twice at either end of the first half to put Sankt Gallen in control and Ezequiel Scarione completed the victory with a third late on as hosts Sion slumped to their second successive defeat.

Sankt Gallen are now two points above Sion, who dropped to third after also being leap-frogged by Grasshoppers following their 2-0 win at Lausanne today.

Milan Vilotic opened the scoring for Grasshoppers in the 49th minute and substitute Amir Abrashi added a second in the final minute to seal a fourth successive league victory for his side.
