Terek Grozny kept pace with Russian Premier League leaders Zenit St. Petersburg by recording their fifth win in the opening seven games, away to Rubin Kazan.
Ezekiel N'Douassel's opener was cancelled out by Jose Rondon but substitute Magomed Mitrishev's 85th-minute goal earned Terek a 2-1 win, before Rubin had Salvatore Bocchetti sent off.
Aleksei Sapogov's late goal earned ten-man Volga Nizhny Novgorod a 1-1 draw at home to Rostov. The visitors took a ninth-minute lead through Dragan Blatnjak and it went from bad to worse for Volga when Andrei Buivolov was sent off on the half-hour, but Sapogov had the final say.
The game between Alania Vladikavkaz and Amkar Perm also finished 1-1, Pavel Ignatovich putting the visitors ahead in the first half before Alania's Tamas Priskin equalised 20 minutes from time.
