A goal from Chinedu Dike gave Portland Timbers victory over the Colorado Rapids in their basement battle in the MLS Western Conference.

Dike scored the only goal of the game just before half-time to give Portland their seventh win of the season.

The three points lifted Portland off the bottom of the table and left Colorado in their place, one point behind.
