Second-placed Malmo produced a first-half blitz to thrash fellow high-flyers AIK 4-0 and close the gap on Swedish Allsvenska leaders Elfsborg to five points.
All four goals came before the break, with Wilton Figueiredo (15 and 42) and Jimmy Durmaz (29 and 40) both netting braces as Malmo took full advantage of Elfsborg's shock 5-1 defeat at promoted Atvidaberg on Saturday.
AIK's defeat saw them slip to fourth, with reigning champions Helsingborg moving into the top three on goal difference after an Alfred Finnbogason hat-trick led them to a 4-1 home win over struggling Gefle in today's other game.
Walid Atta's 10th-minute strike put Helsingborg ahead before Iceland international Finnbogason secured the win with three second-half goals, netting in the 48th, 50th and 79th minutes. Gefle's reply came from substitute Mikael Dahlberg in the 72nd minute.
