Jo scored the only goal in the 26th minute as Atletico Mineiro went top of the Campeonato Brasileiro with a 1-0 win over Gremio, who Anderson Pico sent off seven minutes from the end. 

Indio's strike in the 63rd minute rescued a point for Internacional in a 1-1 draw at Bahia. Gabriel opened the scoring on the stroke of half-time against Inter, who could have gone fourth with a win.

Santos' struggles continued as they could manage only a goalless draw at Portuguesa.

Goals from Adalberto Roman, Hernan Barcos and Maikon Leite saw Palmeiras come from behind to secure a 3-1 win over Figueirense, who had scored first through Julio Cesar.

Flamengo and Sport Recife both claimed 3-2 wins over Atletico Goianiense and Coritiba respectively. Renato Abreu scored twice for Flamengo, while Felipe Azevedo got Sport's winner three minutes from the end.
