Former Paris Saint-Germain coach Antoine Kombouare confirmed on Wednesday he has been appointed coach of Saudi club Al Hilal.
"I've reached an agreement with Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal," the 48-year-old told French television station M6.
Kombouare, who takes over from Ivan Hasek, was sacked by PSG at the end of December despite the club sitting top of Ligue 1 at the time.
"I didn't have other choices and I have exceptional conditions," said Kombouare, who has agreed a one-year deal with an option on a second. "I waited for more interesting, more important clubs, I waited six months," he added.
The former Nantes and PSG defender started his coaching career with the PSG reserves, moving on to coach the first teams at Strasbourg (2003-2004) and Valenciennes (2005-2009) before returning to the capital.
Thirteen-time national champions Al Hilal finished third last season, four points behind champions Al Shabab.
