Wolfsburg have completed the signing of Bas Dost, last season's top scorer in the Eredivisie.

Dost, 23 yesterday, has signed a five-year deal at the Bundesliga club an undisclosed fee was agreed with Heerenveen. Wolfsburg coach Felix Magath is excited at bringing in a player who netted 32 times in 34 league games for Heerenveen in 2011/12.

He told the club's official website: "Bas has really developed in recent years. He is a very dangerous player in the box who knows where the opponent's goal is. I am convinced he will play an important role in the team."

Dost underwent a medical today and is now relishing the opportunity to further his career in Germany. "For me it is a great chance to prove myself with the Wolves in the Bundesliga," he said. "I have followed the league since I was a boy."

Dost was convinced Wolfsburg was the right club for him, despite interest from elsewhere, after speaking to Magath. "As soon as I had talks with Felix Magath I had a good feeling," he said. "There was initial contact during the winter break but I wanted to see out the season at Heerenveen. Now I am itching to start here."
