Lucerne will enter next season's UEFA Europa League in the play-off round after they finished their season with a 3-1 win away to ten-man Sion tonight.
Third-placed Young Boys' win away at champions Basel meant at least a point was required by Lucerne, who were deadlocked at 1-1 with just eight minutes remaining after Florian Stahel cancelled out goalkeeper David Zibung's own goal.
But Zibung's opposite number Kevin Fickentscher was then sent off and Burim Kukeli converted the resulting penalty before Nelson Ferreira netted a late third.
Young Boys also left it until the closing stages, substitute Mathias Vitkieviez scoring an 80th-minute winner after Moreno Costanzo's opener was cancelled out by Xherdan Shaqiri.
Thun finished one place ahead of Zurich despite a high-scoring defeat tonight as Josip Drmic grabbed a hat-trick. After a goalless first half the game exploded into life after the interval. Stjepan Kukuruzovic put Zurich ahead in the 50th minute, but Marco Schnuewly quickly equalised, and Drmic's first was then levelled by Ardit Zenuni. But Drmic notched twice more to earn the visitors a 4-2 success.
Lausanne kept themselves ahead of Grasshoppers with a 2-1 home win thanks to Matt Moussilou's 87th-minute goal. Jocelyn Roux had earlier equalised after Joao Pedro Paiva put Grasshoppers ahead.
