Mazzarri: Udinese favourites for third
Walter Mazzarri says his side cannot afford to slip up if they want to play UEFA Champions League football next season. Napoli currently sit third but are level on points with Udinese and just two ahead of Lazio, with Inter Milan another point behind that.
Having experienced Europe's premier club competition this season, and delighted their fans and neutrals alike by reaching the second round at Manchester City's expense, Napoli are keen for a second crack at the whip.
But if they don't win their last two matches, then one of their rivals could overhaul them. Mazzarri is most worried about Udinese, who are only behind on head-to-head record. "The less we talk about it (third place) the better but looking at the programme, Udinese are favourites," said Mazzarri.
"Of course we'll fight to the end and if we do the maximum (two wins) we don't need to look at what the others do. But there is no room for errors. Tomorrow is the decisive match, we're playing for everything."
Napoli travel to Bologna on Sunday in the first of their last three matches of the season. After the next two league games, they will play Juventus in the Italian Cup final and Mazzarri is convinced this has been a positive season. "Given what we've done in the Italian Cup and Champions League we've done great things," he said.
However, he is worried about the threat posed by Bologna. "They're one of the revelations of the season. (Coach Stefano) Pioli has done well, changing his system during the season has worked. Tomorrow will be an important stage on our journey."
