Spartak Nalchik played out a goalless draw with Krylya Sovetov today but it was not enough to save them from relegation from the Russian Premier League.

Krylya finished the match with ten men following the 84th-minute dismissal of Khyzyr Appayev, but the home side were unable to take advantage in the final minutes.

The result leaves Spartak ten points adrift of safety with just three matches remaining.

Tomsk kept alive their slim hopes of avoiding the drop with a goalless draw at home to Amkar Perm, although they are eight points from safety and will need to win their remaining matches to stand any chance of staying up.

Volga Nizhny Novgorod sit above the bottom two, but are not safe yet after slipping to a 2-1 loss at Krasnodar. Yura Movsisyan scored both goals for Krasnodar after four and 44 minutes, with Andrei Karyaka replying from the penalty spot in the 72nd minute.

Rostov will avoid a bottom-two finish following a 1-1 draw against Terek Grozny. Roman Adamov gave Rostov the lead after four minutes but Blagoy Georgiev equalised six minutes before half-time.
