Draw moves Ajaccio out of danger
Ajaccio moved out of the Ligue 1 relegation zone with a goalless draw at home to Nancy.
It might have been even better for the hosts, who were denied by the crossbar at the end of the first half, but they had to hang on at the end as they moved a point clear of the bottom three.
Mid-table Nancy started the better and Benjamin Moukandjo had a powerful shot from the edge of the area blocked by goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa.
Ajaccio came back into the game, Yoann Poulard heading inches wide from a Johan Cavalli free-kick and Ilan losing out to Guy N'Dy Assembe when one-on-one with the goalkeeper.
At the other end Ochoa had to be alert again to block from Yohan Mollo. The hosts almost went in front in first-half stoppage time when Cavalli freed Ilan, who beat Sebastien Puygrenier and unleashed a fierce effort which crashed back off the bar.
The relegation strugglers started the second half as they finished the first and Fousseni Diawara headed just wide after Frederic Sammaritano's free-kick picked him out at the far post.
The hosts had Ochoa to thank again, though, as he saved with a leg from Loosemy Karaboue. The game continued to flow from end to end and Sammaritano worked his way into a shooting position only to fire wide.
The visitors finished strongly, with Salif Sane firing just over and Daniel Niculae's first-time shot shaving the left post, but Ajaccio hung on for a point.
