Ulsan Hyundai moved up to third in the K-League table after Maranhao's late winner sank Incheon United 1-0.
The Brazilian struck in injury time to leave his side three points behind leaders Suwon Bluewings with a game in hand at this early stage of the season. There was even more late drama as Chunnam Dragons completed a 3-1 home win over Daejeon Citizen.
The hosts had led though Hong Jin-Gi's 12th-minute goal but Kim Hyeung-Bum levelled with 15 minutes remaining. Yoon Suk-Young restored Chunnam's lead in the 90th minute and there was still time for Shim Dong-Woon to grab a third.
Everton Santos fired a hat-trick as Seongnam Ilhwa Chunma beat Gwangju FC 4-2. Bogdan Milic had opened the scoring for Gwangju and drawn them level at 2-2 but the Brazilian netted his third before Park Se-Young rounded off the scoring.
Hwang Jin-Sung's fourth-minute goal earned Pohang Steelers a 1-0 win over Jeonbuk Motors.
