Gamba Osaka claimed just their second win of the J.League season, beating Shimizu S-Pulse 3-1.

For Shimizu it was a missed opportunity to go second in the table but they never looked likely to gain the victory they needed to do that.

Takuya Takei put Osaka ahead after 20 minutes, with Rafinha doubling the advantage seven minutes later. None Sato made it 3-0 nine minutes from time, with Alex Brosque netting a last-minute consolation.
