Adebayor, Gallas turn focus to QPR
Roberto di Matteo's side set up an FA Cup final against Liverpool with a 5-1 thrashing of Spurs at Wembley. At 2-0 down, Harry Redknapp's men poured forward and pulled one back through Gareth Bale.
However, their over-exertion allowed Chelsea to pick them apart easily at the finish, with goals from Frank Lampard, Ramires and Florent Malouda sealing the win for the west London club.
Adebayor today urged his team-mates to forget the loss and instead focus on beating Queens Park Rangers to help keep their UEFA Champions League qualification hopes alive. "We have to bounce back," Adebayor said.
"This is the moment where we will see who is focused and who is not focused and who is really a man. We are in a difficult moment but we have to come out, we have to show character. We are at QPR on Saturday. We have to show personality and win there."
Tottenham are only inside the Premier League top four on goal difference after a run of one win in their last eight games allowed Newcastle United and Chelsea back into the race for Champions League qualification.
Spurs lead the Magpies on goal difference and Chelsea trail by two points, making victory at Loftus Road this Saturday vital according to defender William Gallas. He said: "It will not be easy but we have to fight until the end of the season now. We have to give everything to qualify for the Champions League.
"At the moment in the dressing room the atmosphere is not great but we are professional and we have to come back onto the training ground and work hard again to be ready for the next game against QPR. We have to do it. I know it will be not easy because that semi-final was very important for us, but we have to work hard now."
