Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels admits the team's meeting with Bayern Munich next Wednesday will go a long way to deciding the Bundesliga title. Dortmund have a three-point lead over their title rivals, who travel to the Westfalenstadion on 11 April.
"If we won, we would perhaps have a six-point lead over Bayern," Hummels said in an interview with the Bild newspaper. "With four games left (after that) that would certainly be a number to be reckoned with. If we drew or lost we would have to wait."
Dortmund saw their lead at the top cut at the weekend as they were held to a dramatic 4-4 draw by Stuttgart while Bayern won 1-0 at Nuremberg.
But Hummels is relishing the battle. "We are still out in front," the 23-year-old added. "That we now have a highly explosive season finale is surely the best thing the fans can wish for."
