Meanwhile, Liaoning Whowin are a point behind Guangzhou following a 3-3 draw at home to Changchun Yatai. The hosts led through Milos Trifunovic's 32nd-minute goal, but Changchun went ahead with two goals in eight minutes from Wang Dong in the 47th minute and Pei Shuai in the 55th minute.

Yang Xu drew Liaoning level before Trifunovic's second five minutes later looked set to give them the points. However, Liu Weidong levelled with 15 minutes to go.

Guizhou Renhe are third following a goalless draw at Shanghai Shenxin, who remain a point and a place behind their opponents.

Dalian Shide moved up to seventh with their first win of the campaign, 2-1 over Qingdao Jonoon. Zheng Long put visitors Qingdao ahead in the 25th minute, but Dalian hit back as Bulgarian Martin Kamburov levelled from the penalty spot on the stroke of half-time and then put them in front with three minutes left.

Shandong Luneng and Dalian Aerbin are both yet to record their first wins after a 3-3 draw. Shandong fell behind within five minutes to Yu Dabao and Gustavo Canales goals, but were level by the 12th minute as Lebanese Roda Antar scored in the seventh minute and Brazilian Obina made it 2-2. Zhou Tong restored Dalian's advantage, but Obina levelled again after an hour had gone by.
