FC Nordsjaelland missed the chance to capitalise on a rare slip by Danish Superliga leaders FC Copenhagen after going down to a 2-1 defeat at home to Brondby.

With Copenhagen being held to a 0-0 draw at home to fourth-placed FC Midtjylland, Nordsjaelland had the chance to move to within two points of the leaders but saw their hopes scuppered as Brondby posted victory thanks to goals by Simon Christoffersen (25) and Clarence Goodson (75).

Nordsjaelland's consolation came courtesy of Nicolai Stokholm's 57th-minute penalty, but the dismissal of Jores Okore five minutes from the end killed off any chance of the hosts snatching a point.

Silkeborg are up to sixth after a 4-2 win at Sonderjyske. Marvin Pourie's first-half brace had Silkeborg in charge at the break but Sonderjyske hit back to level through Lasse Vibe (47) and Quincy Antipas (71).

Silkeborg made sure of the win thanks to goals by Kaimar Saag - who netted just seconds after coming on as a 72nd-minute substitute - and Kasper Risgaard (79).

In the day's remaining game, second-bottom Lyngby ran out 1-0 winners over Odense thanks to Jeppe Brandrup's 51st-minute goal.
