Guadalajara were 2-1 winners against Santos Laguna, an overdue first win of the new season.

Marco Fabian and Erick Torres put Chivas 2-0 up before Santos pulled a goal back through Herculez Gomez.

Queretaro drew 1-1 at Unam Pumas in the day's other game, Sergio Ponce equalising two minutes after half-time after Juan Carlos Cacho had given the hosts a first-half lead.
