January's transfer window reached its climax on Tuesday with clubs across the globe working frantically to acquire and offload players before the opportunity passed.
FIFA.com was there to bring you extensive coverage of all the transfers as soon as they were confirmed. The live commentary began at 09.00 CET and ended at 01.30 CET on Wednesday morning, as last-minute deals were still confirmed.

01.19 CET - Some late deals affecting Spanish clubs. Sporting Gijon have announced the signing of Getafe striker of Adrian Colunga on loan until the end of the season, while NAC Breda have signed Real Sociedad midfielder Jeffrey Sarpong on a six-month loan deal.
00.56 CET - Tottenham have agreed to sell their 30-year-old striker Roman Pavlyuchenko to Lokomotiv Moscow. Pavlyuchenko will have to undergo a medical and agree personal terms before that is a confirmed transfer, however.
00.48 CET - Everton have confirmed that they have signed South African international Steven Pienaar on loan from Spurs until the end of the season. Dutch international John Heitinga has already reacted to the news, saying: "Pienaar coming back is great news. What a great day for the Blues!" Phil Neville has also hailed the deal, tweeting: "If you asked me on January 1, pick anyone in the world to sign for us this window, I would of said only one man and my prayers have been answered." Pienaar himself has said: "Happy days. Look like we just beat the clock."
00.42 CET - Norwich City have signed 21-year-old defender Ryan Bennett from Peterborough on a three-and-a-half year deal. However, he will rejoin 'Posh' until 28 February on loan.
00.37 CET - Portland Timbers have announced that the club has acquired midfielder and USA U-20 international Charles Renken.
00.26 CET - Wesley Verhoek has signed a four and a half year deal with FC Twente to bring to an end an eight year spell with ADO Den Haag.
00.11 CET - One player who is leaving Spurs, albeit temporarily is Sebastien Bassong who has joined Wolves on loan until the end of the season.
23.59 CET - Catania have loaned defender Pablo Alvarez to La Liga strugglers Real Zaragoza. The Serie A side have also signed goalkeeper Juan Pablo Carrizo from Lazio on a six month contract.
23.42 CET - Keith Andrews has signed for West Bromwich Albion from Blackburn Rovers. Speaking about the Andrews deal, his new manager Roy Hodgson said: "Keith is a player I know well and have admired for several years. He's a flexible midfielder who can play in a number of roles across midfield. He will bring experience to the squad and also has a good scoring record."
23.39 CET - QPR have signed Bobby Zamora for a £4.5m fee on a two and a half year contract. Meanwhile, Louis Saha has signed a six month deal with Tottenham Hotspur from Everton.
23.26 CET - David Pizarro has completed his loan move to Manchester City. "I know him very well, he's a good player," City boss Roberto Mancini has said.
23.23 CET - Bolton Wanderers have agreed fee of around £3m for Watford striker Marvin Sordell. The striker is now discussing personal terms. Meanwhile, David Moyes has told the media that not given up hope about bringing another player to Goodison Park in the window following the Blues' 1-0 win over Manchester City.
23.09 CET - Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp says Spurs have agreed a deal with Everton for Louis Saha and he "thinks it is all sorted". adding: "He is sharp and he has got good movement."
22.54 CET - Villarreal have confirmed the signing of Fluminense forward Alejandro Martinuccio, who will spend the rest of the season on loan with the La Liga outfit.
22.43 CET - USA international striker Edson Buddle has been released from his contract at Bundesliga 2 side Ingolstadt. The former LA Galaxy man recently had a trial with Everton.
22.38 CET - FC Twente have completed the signing of Dutch striker Glynor Plet from Heracles. The 25-year-old has put pen to paper on a three-and-a-half-year deal with the club. Plet has already scored ten goals in his 19 Eredivisie games this season.
22.29 CET - Fulham have sealed a deal for Australian starlet Ryan Williams from Portsmouth. Williams has been training with the west London club and also played for their reserves earlier this week.
22.25 CET - Stoke City have sold 20-year-old winger Ben Marshall to Championship side Leicester City for an undisclosed fee. The youngster has put pen to paper on a three-year contract with the Foxes, who are currently 13th in the table. Meanwhile, Bradley Orr's transfer from QPR to Blackburn Rovers have been confirmed.
22.20 CET - Scottish Premier League side Hibernian have signed Roy O'Donovan on loan from Coventry City until the end of the season. The Irish striker, 26, has joined the Edinburgh club until June 30. He has made just 17 appearances since arriving at the Sky Blues in the summer of 2010. Meanwhile, West Bromwich Albion full-backs Gonzalo Jara Reyes and Joe Mattock join Championship club Brighton and Hove Albion on loan until the end of the season.
22.08 CET - Ravel Morrison has completed his move from Manchester United to West Ham United. The midfielder, who turns 19 on Thursday, has signed a three-and-a-half year deal after the clubs agreed an undisclosed fee. Coming into Old Trafford is 19-year-old Swiss defender Frederic Veseli from neighbours Manchester City. Veseli said: "I am very happy and it is an honour to sign for Manchester United. Manchester United has a long history of younger players coming through and hopefully I can follow and do the same."
21.51 CET - Liverpool have confirmed that goalkeeper Martin Hansen has left the club after to join Danish side Viborg FF. The 21-year-old joined the Reds' Academy in the summer of 2006 from Brondby. Meanwhile Mix Diskerud is going on loan to KAA Gent, who are currently in second place in Belgium's top division.
21.38 CET - Croatia striker Nikica Jelavic has signed a four-and-a-half year contract with Everton after the Goodison Park club agreed a transfer with Scottish club Rangers.
21.34 CET - Porto have announced they have re-signed midfielder Lucho Gonzalez from Marseille on a free transfer. The 31-year-old playmaker returns to the Estadio do Dragao after leaving the Portuguese champions for Marseille in the summer of 2009 in an €18 million deal. "Ever since I left, my idea had always been to return one day and, at this point of my career, this was the right thing to do," said the Argentina international.
21.28 CET - Ajax have announced the departure of youngster Ouasim Bouy to Juventus for an undisclosed fee. The Eredivisie champions decided to sell the 18-year-old now, rather than lose him for nothing in the summer. " Juventus made him a great offer that he could not turn down," said Danny Blind. "By selling him now, we have at least received a transfer fee. We wish him all the best, but are disappointed that we were unable to hold on to him."
21.21 CET - David Pizarro has arrived in Manchester ahead of his loan move to Manchester City and is currently at the Bridgewater Hospital just outside the city centre for a medical.
21.08 CET - Chelsea are set to sign teenage striker Patrick Bamford from Nottingham Forest for a fee of around £1.5m. Bamford has only played two first-team games but has caught the eye with some superb displays in the FA Youth Cup. Meanwhile, Chelsea reserve team forward Milan Lalkovic, 20, has agreed to join Dutch club ADO Den Haag on loan until 30 June.
21.02 CET - Spurs striker Roman Pavlyuchenko is in talks over a move to Lokomotiv Moscow.
20.52 CET - Bobby Zamora has arrived at Loftus Road to discuss personal terms with QPR, while Danny Higginbotham has left Stoke City for Nottingham Forest on loan.

20.20 CET - Reports coming in from Goodison Park suggest that Nikica Jelavic will be paraded as an Everton player at half time of the Toffees' home game against Manchester City which kicks-off in 40 minutes. One player heading out of Goodison, may be French striker Louis Saha who is subject to interest from Tottenham Hotspur. Meanwhile, Blackburn Rovers midfielder Keith Andrews is in talks with West Bromwich Albion with regards to a possible transfer.
20.13 CET - Levante have signed Algeria forward Abdel Kader Ghezzal on loan. The Bari striker had been on a year-long loan to Cesena but he has now moved to La Liga until the end of the season.
20.11 CET - AC Milan have snapped up Internacional youngster Lucas Roggia on loan until the end of the season.
20.05 CET - Sotirios Kyrgiakos has signed for Sunderland on loan from Wolfsburg.
20.04 CET - Scottish club Hibernian have confirmed the signing of Gambian international full-back Pa Saikou Kujabi on an 18-month contract. The 25-year-old was a free agent, having previously played for Austrian clubs Grazer AK and SV Ried, and FSV Frankfurt in Germany.
19.46 CET - Attacking midfielder Thomas Eisfeld has completed a move to Arsenal from Borussia Dortmund on a long-term contract. The 19-year-old has scored six goals and six assists in his 12 appearances for the club's U-19s side this season. Eisfeld said: “I feel very proud to have signed for Arsenal. This is a great club, with many great players, and I’m so happy to be joining Arsenal."
19.29 CET - Barcelona have announced that midfielder Alexander Hleb has been released from the final six months of his contract. Hleb, 30, signed for Barça from Arsenal in 2008 for a €15 million fee, but spent the last three seasons he has spent time on loan at Stuttgart, Birmingham and Wolfsburg.
19.21 CET - Two signings have just been announced in France. Midfielder Georges Mandjeck has completed a move from Rennes to Auxerre. Reports in France suggest the fee for the Cameroon international is in the region of €1m and he has signed a four-and-a-half-year contract. Meanwhile, St Etienne have signed left-sided player Jonathan Brison from Nancy on a three-and-a-half-year contract.
19.18 CET - Filippo Inzaghi has revealed that he will remain at AC Milan until at least the end of the season. "I'm staying here," the striker declared. "I cannot pull myself away from this environment; to move away from AC Milan, the fans. It would have been a shame not to reach 300 appearances with Milan, after 12 years as a Rossonero and 126 goals."

19.04 CET - Inter Milan have announced that Thiago Motta has joined Paris Saint-Germain. No fee has been given as yet.
19.02 CET - Colin Kazim-Richards has joined Olympiacos until the end of the season on a loan deal from Galatasaray. The defending Greek champions have an option to sign the London-born Turkey international permanently, on a two-year contract in the summer.
18.54 CET - French Ligue 2 side Nantes have completed the transfer of Borussia Dortmund striker Damien Le Tallec on a two-and-a-half year contract.
18.40 CET - Fulham have completed the signing of 28-year-old Stuttgart striker Pavel Pogrebnyak on a permanent deal.
18.48 CET - Santos president Luis Alvaro Ribeiro has rejected a bid from FC Porto for Ganso. Ribeiro said "maybe there was a typo and they forgot to put one more zero in their bid.” Meanwhile, Isaac Cuence has signed a new contract with Barcelona to stay with the club until 2015. He will wear the No23 shirt at the Camp Nou.
18.29 CET - Inter Milan have signed Angelo Palombo on loan from Serie B side Sampdoria.
18.23 CET - Lyon have loaned their 20-year-old attacking midfielder Ishak Belfodil to Serie A side Bologna until the end of the season with no option to buy, the French club have announced.
18.16 CET - Braga have confirmed the signing of ex-Anderlecht defender Samuel.
18.14 CET - South Korean international Koo Ja-Cheol has left Wolfsburg to sign for FC Augsburg on loan. The former Jeju United man has joined the struggling Bundesliga side on a deal that will last until the end of the season.

17.57 CET - Rangers have confirmed they have had a bid rejected by Norwich for striker Grant Holt. Ibrox manager Ally McCoist made a move for the Canaries captain, with top goalscorer Nikica Jelavic set to complete his switch to Everton. However, the Scottish champions have failed in their attempt to bring the 30-year-old to Ibrox.

16.28 CET - Lorient have signed Wesley Lautoa from Sedan on a four-and-a-half year deal. The 24-year-old represents New Caledonia at international level, and he told his new club's official website: "I come here to try to play as often as possible and to move forward, putting myself at the service of the team"
16.22 CET - Inter Milan have let a couple of players go out on loan. Philippe Coutinho has joined Espanyol until the end of the season while Kenyan international MacDonald Mariga has re-joined Parma on loan for the remainder of the campaign.

14.30 CET - Two more transfers have been confirmed in the last few moments. Poland international Ariel Borysiuk has signed for Kaiserslauten from Legia Warsaw and Spanish midfielder Victor Sanchez has signed a three-and-a-half year contract with Espanyol, making the move from Swiss side Neuchatel.

13.33 CET - Fiorentina have completed the signing of Kenneth Zohore from Copenhagen for an undisclosed fee. Zohore has been capped at U-19 level for Denmark, previously enjoyed trials at Chelsea and Inter Milan, but will now continue his career at Fiorentina instead.
13.28 CET - There seems to be a plethora of activity in London with Djibril Cisse heading to QPR for talks, Pavel Pogrebnyak undergoing a medical with Fulham and Ravel Morrison set to sign for West Ham United from Manchester United.
12.10 CET - Portugal international Yannick Djalo has signed for Benfica after his failed transfer last summer from Sporting Lisbon. "Benfica have reached an agreement with striker Yannick Djalo who has signed a contract which is valid for four and a half seasons, or until the end of the 2015/16 season," Benfica announced in a statement.
12.08 CET - QPR have confirmed that they are in talks with Fulham to sign England forward Bobby Zamora.
11.59 CET - Roma have confirmed they are in talks with Manchester City over a loan deal for David Pizarro. Roma general director Franco Baldini confirmed: "For our transfer market, I would say that there will be no surprises, we're just trying to close with City for [David] Pizarro. We are looking at a loan, we hope to reach an agreement by tonight."
11.51 CET - AC Milan have confirmed the signing of 18-year-old striker Philipp Prosenik from Chelsea. The London club had signed the Austrian youngster at the age of 16 from Rapid Vienna.

11.14 CET - Former Manchester City forward Valeri Bojinov has rejoined Serie A club Lecce on loan until the end of the season from Sporting Lisbon. Also, as alluded at 10.22 CET, Blackburn Rovers have completed the signing of QPR defender Bradley Orr.
10.37 CET - Hoffenheim have signed Srdjan Lakic on loan from Bundesliga rivals Wolfsburg until the end of the season - just hours after declaring they were no longer interested in the striker.
10.30 CET - Genk have confirmed that Belgium international Kevin De Bruyne has joined Chelsea. The 20-year-old winger has long been linked with a move to west London and saw a deal fail to materialise in the summer. Genk revealed that De Bruyne put pen-to-paper early on Tuesday morning, signing a contract that commits him to the club until 2017. He will remain with Genk until June.
10.22 CET - Blackburn Rovers have had a busy start to the day. They have confirmed the signing of Swedish forward Marcus Olsson, the twin brother of Martin Olsson who is already at the club. Meanwhile, QPR defender Bradley Orr is having a medical with the Ewood Park club.
10.11 CET - Juventus have announced that they have sold young forward Ciro Immobile to Genoa for a fee of €8 million to be paid in instalments over the next three years.
09.56 CET - There are five Premier League games taking place this evening, hours before the window closes. Swansea City manager Brendan Rodgers has joked that he won't have his phone on during the Swans game with Chelsea, while Everton manager David Moyes whose side faces Manchester City at Goodison Park said that 'if there is business to be done, there are people at the club who can take care of it.'
09.22 CET - The UK-based news agency, the Press Association and the BBC are reporting that Manchester City and England left-back is heading to Sunderland for a medical ahead of a loan move. The 31-year-old has made just 42 appearances for Roberto Mancini's side since signing in 2009.
09.10 CET - West Bromwich Albion have agreed a fee for Birmingham City defender Liam Ridgewell. The 27-year-old defender has previously played for Aston Villa and now looks set to move to another club based in the English Midlands.
09.00 CET - The biggest news overnight is that Everton have agreed a fee with Rangers for Croatia striker Nikica Jelavic. The 6'2 striker is now discussing personal terms with the Goodison Park club. Jelavic, who is currently the Scottish Premier League's leading scorer is a player who has been on Everton manager David Moyes' wishlist for some time, having initially watched the target man during his days at Rapid Vienna. Earlier this week, the Premier League club sold Diniyar Bilyaletdinov to Spartak Moscow. The Toffees have also agreed a deal in principle to sign 20-year-old central defender Greek defender Kostas Manolas from AEK Athens.
