Tijuana moved top of the Mexican Clausura with a 2-0 win at bottom side Guadalajara yesterday. Jose Sand scored a goal in each half for the visitors, who top the early standings on goal difference from Santos Laguna.

Santos left it late to beat Jaguares at home, with Aaron Galindo scoring the winner four minutes from time. Cruz Azul are a point behind in third after being held to a 1-1 draw at home to Pachuca. Jaime Ayovi put the visitors ahead after 19 minutes, but Emanuel Villa ensured the points were shared with a 30th-minute equaliser.

Monterrey also had to come from a goal down to secure a 1-1 home draw with Unam Pumas, who took the lead on 26 minutes through Juan Carlos Cacho. Othoniel Arce equalised for Monterrey just after the hour mark.

In the day's final game, Queretaro beat ten-man Atlas 2-1. Isaac Romo (18) and Sergio Ponce (35) set up the win for Queretaro, while Atlas had Alonso Zamora sent off ten minutes from time before Giancarlo Maldonado scored a last-minute consolation.
