Roma have confirmed that striker Daniel Osvaldo will be sidelined for two months with a thigh injury.

The Italy international suffered the injury in training this week and tests today revealed the club's worst fears.

A statement from Roma read: "Daniel Osvaldo underwent tests on Friday which revealed a second degree muscular lesion in his right thigh. The recovery period will be around two months."

Osvaldo is Roma's top scorer with seven goals this season. Roma, who loaned striker Marco Borriello to Juventus until the end of the season earlier this week, are seventh in the standings and host Chievo on Sunday.
