Third-placed Racing Club remain eight points behind the Apertura leaders after suffering a 3-2 defeat at home to nine-man Belgrano Cordoba. Cesar Pereyra's first-half double inspired the visitors to a win that moves them sixth, and just a point behind Racing.
All of Belgrano's goals came before the break with Gaston Turus also on target to ensure they assumed control at half-time despite Giovanni Moreno responding for Racing.
Belgrano's hold on the game loosened, however, when Ribair Rodriguez was sent off on 67 minutes and Valentin Viola scored a minute later. But Racing could not summons an equaliser as the game ended with Gabriel Hauche and Juan Quiroga being given their marching orders.
Gaston Caprari scored twice as San Martin San Juan thumped Olimpo 3-0. Caprari scored either side of a 34th-minute Mauro Bogado penalty.
Struggling Newell's Old Boys could only manage a goalless home draw against San Lorenzo while the contest between All Boys and Lanus also ended with a goal.
