The top-of-the-table Argentinian Apertura clash between Boca Juniors and nine-man Racing Club finished in a disappointing goalless draw on Sunday night.
The result meant second-placed Racing remained eight points behind the leaders after 15 games, but they will be much the happier of the two teams with the outcome after having Agustin Pelletieri and Teofilo Gutierrez sent off in the second half.
Boca pushed forward looking to make the most of their numerical advantage but could not find a way past Racing goalkeeper Sebastian Saja, who made a string of fine saves to preserve a point for the visitors.
Elsewhere, Colon Santa Fe climbed to fifth spot thanks to a 1-0 home triumph against Atletico Rafaela, secured by Esteban Fuertes' 73rd-minute winner, while Paulo Rosales' goal gave Union Santa Fe a 1-0 win at struggling San Lorenzo which moved them up to sixth.
