Perth Glory overcame a two-goal deficit and the first-half dismissal of Liam Miller to grab a point with a 2-2 draw against Melbourne Victory in the A-League at Etihad Stadium. After Miller was sent-off eight minutes before the break for a professional foul, Carlos Hernandez's penalty and Danny Allsopp's goal gave Melbourne a two-goal lead.
But Andrezinho pulled a goal back for the visitors before Shane Smeltz netted the equaliser three minutes before the end. Perth almost took the lead after quarter of an hour when Adam Hughes headed against the woodwork before Miller saw red in the 37th minute for bringing down Archie Thompson.
Melbourne then took the lead eight minutes into the second-half when Thompson was fouled in the box by Bas van den Brink and Hernandez converted from the spot. Five minutes later, they doubled their lead when Allsopp was on hand to finish from close range.
However, Andrezinho reduced the deficit with a 25-yard free-kick in the 71st minute and Smeltz then headed home substitute Todd Howarth's cross in the 87th minute to ensure a share of the spoils. Perth lie fourth in the table, seven points behind leaders Brisbane Roar. Melbourne's fifth draw of the season, meanwhile, leaves them seventh.
