Galatasaray missed the chance to join Fenerbahce at the top of the Turkish Super Lig after slumping to a 4-2 loss at home to Gaziantepspor tonight.
Things began well for the hosts thanks to an 11th-minute strike from Selcuk Inan, but Muhammet Demir (33) and Ivelin Popov (37) gave Gaziantepspor a half-time lead. Johan Elmander pulled Gala level after 64 minutes, only for Orhan Gule to restore their opponents' advantage four minutes later.
The 76th-minute dismissal of Sabri Sarioglu then ended Gala's challenge, with Cenk Tosun wrapping up the win two minutes from time.
Defeat leaves Galatasaray three points behind Fener, but they slip down to fourth behind Orduspor and Istanbul Buyuksehir BSK.
A last-minute goal from Yalcin Ayhan earned Orduspor a 1-1 draw at home to Bursaspor to move two points off the top.
The home side looked to be heading for their second defeat of the season after conceding a goal from Prince Tagoe a minute before the interval, but Ayhan rescued Orduspor in the dying seconds to move his team two points behind leaders Fenerbahce.
Istanbul draw
Istanbul Buyuksehir are a further point behind after a 2-2 draw against Eskisehirspor. Samuel Holmen fired the home side in front after 39 minutes, but a Mehmet Yildiz penalty levelled matters before things deteriorated further for Buyuksehir with a red card for Kamil Zayatte.
Veysel Sari then looked to have snatched the win in the 89th minute for Eskisehirspor, but Holmen scored again in the final minute to ensure a share of the points.
Trabzonspor lie fifth after two second-half strikes from Burak Yilmaz - the second from the penalty spot - sealed a 2-2 draw against Antalyaspor. Deniz Baris and Ali Zitouni had given the visitors a two-goal lead in the first half before Yilmaz's heroics. Didier Zokora was also sent off for the hosts.
