Houston Dynamo defeated Los Angeles Galaxy 3-1 in the final match of the regular MLS season to clinch second place in the Eastern Conference standings on Sunday.

Goals by Adam Moffat (28), Bobby Boswell (48) and Carlos Costly (74) put the result beyond any doubt before Jack McBean hit a last-minute consolation for the Galaxy, who were already assured of top spot in the Western Conference.

Houston now progress to an Eastern Conference Semi-final encounter with the Philadelphia Union, while the Galaxy will face the lower-seeded team from the wild card play-offs to be held ahead of the conference semis.
