Panathinaikos moved up to fifth in the Greek Superleague tonight with a 3-2 win at FC Xanthi in which Sebastian Leto scored twice. The former Liverpool man put the visitors two up inside 23 minutes, the opener coming from the penalty spot, before Pana's progress was checked by the 39th-minute dismissal of Victor Vitolo.

The ten men went 3-0 up courtesy of a Quincy Owusu-Abeyie goal 11 minutes into the second half before the hosts hit back through efforts from Edimar and Panagiotis Vlachodimos.

PAOK Salonika and OFI Crete drew 0-0, as did Giannina and Panionios despite Panionios being reduced to ten men after 40 minutes following the dismissal of Akim Omolade Sulaimon, while Ergotelis and Aris Salonika drew 1-1.

Khalifa Sankare put Aris ahead on the stroke of half-time and their chances of a first win of the season appeared to increase when Ergotelis had Tomasz Wisio sent off with nine minutes to go. The ten men had other ideas, though, and snatched an equaliser through Mario Budimir in the final minute.
