Unam Pumas suffered a setback as they slipped to a 4-1 home defeat against rock bottom Atlas in the Apertura. Ricardo Bocanegra put Atlas ahead after 31 minutes and, though Juan Palencia levelled six minutes later, Jahir Barraza's second-half double and a goal from Daniel Arreola made the points safe.
In the day's other game, Puebla claimed their third win of the season - 1-0 against Queretaro - despite finishing the game with nine men.
Duvier Riascos opened the scoring after 58 minutes and was sent off moments later. He was followed by Gabriel Pereyra, who had only been on the pitch for three minutes when he was dismissed 16 minutes from time, but Queretaro could not find an equaliser.
