FC Dallas produced a classy performance to inflict a 2-1 defeat on Major League Soccer hosts the Chicago Fire on Wednesday.

The visitors went ahead four minutes before the break through Goncalves Jackson and were comfortable as they went 2-0 up in the 53rd minute through Daniel Cruz.

The Fire's cause was further undermined by the dismissal of Pavel Pardo 11 minutes from time and though Sebastian Grazzini managed to pull one back in the 86th minute, it was too little, too late.

In the other game, Western Conference strugglers Vancouver beat DC United 2-1 at home. Camilo da Silva put the Whitecaps ahead in the first minute and Long Tan doubled their advantage by repeating the feat in the second half, scoring within a minute of the restart. Brandon McDonald's effort for DC proved a mere consolation.
