Juventus winger Emanuele Giaccherini is set to avoid a prolonged spell on the sidelines after a scan confirmed that his thigh injury is not as serious as first feared.
Giaccherini, a summer arrival from Cesena, picked up the problem in training yesterday, leading to fears he could be out for some time.
However, a scan today confirmed the 26-year-old had suffered no tear to the muscular tissue and he should be fit for Juve's next league outing at Chievo on 16 October.
"The tests showed an inflammation of the player's iliopsoas muscle which will reduce in the coming days with continued medical treatment," read a statement on the club website. "The winger is expected to return to the group within a week."
