Camilo da Silva converted two penalties to guide Vancouver Whitecaps to a 3-0 win over Real Salt Lake in Major League Soccer's Western Conference.

The hosts gained the upper hand two minutes before half-time when Blake Wagner was given a straight red card and Da Silva put his side ahead.

Da Silva doubled the lead eight minutes after the break with his second spot-kick, while Nizar Khalfan netted the third two minutes from time.

It was only Vancouver's fifth win of the season, though, they still remain bottom. Real Salt Lake, on the other hand, remain six points behind second-placed Seattle Sounders in third.
