Alvaro Negredo has pledged his future to Sevilla by penning a two-year contract extension that will keep him at the La Liga club until 2016.
The Spain international has put pen to paper on the new deal that rewards the 26-year-old's stellar form over the past two seasons, while giving his club the security of a new €50million buyout clause.
Negredo, who arrived at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan from Real Madrid in 2009, was the top Spanish marksman in La Liga last season with 20 goals, and has started the current campaign in a similar vein, with three goals in six league outings.
Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido was determined to retain his prize asset and Negredo told the club's website: "He [Del Nido] opened the door and I did not waste any time entering.
"We both know what we want. He wanted me to stay and I wanted to stay. It was what the club and I were looking for.
"I want to continue growing in this great team and what better way to recognise the trust placed in me than to renew and extend the contract. I'm very comfortable here, very comfortable. The club has always believed in me."
