Zenit St Petersburg missed the chance to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League standings after being held to a 2-2 draw by a ten-man Spartak Moscow side.
Fifth-placed Spartak took the lead in the 22nd minute when Zenit's defender Aleksandr Aniukov put into his own net, but the visitors drew level six minutes before half-time through Danny and soon after lost Nicolas Pareja to a red card.
Zenit looked set to make the most of their numerical advantage when Alexander Kerzhakov put them ahead three minutes into the second half, but the ten men of Spartak equalised in the 80th minute through Welliton to salvage a point.
The result keeps Zenit two points clear of second-placed CSKA Moscow, who were held 0-0 at sixth-placed Kuban Krasnodar.
Lokomotiv Moscow climbed into the top four after Felipe Caicedo's early goal helped them see off Anzhi Makhachkala, who dropped to eighth following their defeat and Rubin Kazan's 2-0 win at bottom club Tomsk.
Salvatore Bocchetti netted both of Rubin's goals, opening the scoring in the 51st minute and then wrapping up the win six minutes from time.
