Sochaux put their last two results behind them with a convincing 3-0 victory at home over Toulouse at the Stade Auguste Bonal.

After conceding ten goals in their previous two games, which yielded no points, victory over the high-flying visitors was welcome particularly as they kept a clean sheet in doing so.

Modibo Maiga scored twice and Cedric Bakambu netted the other as Mehmed Bazdarevic's men moved back into the top half of the Ligue 1 table with this morale-boosting success.

Toulouse had the first chance when Moussa Sissoko brought an excellent save out of goalkeeper Teddy Richert, following a cross from Franck Tabanou.

However, the visitors were ahead six minutes later when Maiga netted left-footed from just inside the penalty box following a ball from Loic Poujol. Goalkeeper Ali Ahamada got a hand on the ball, but could not keep it out.

Toulouse had a chance to level ten minutes before the interval, but Tabanou should have done better from Sissoko's cross, Richert saving comfortably.

Just before the hour mark Antoine Devaux brought a good save out of Richert, who dived full-length to his right to keep out the midfielder's shot.

Kevin Anin struck the crossbar six minutes from time following Marvin Martin's corner before the visitors did likewise at the other end when Adrien Ragattin's effort hit the post following a deflection off Carlao.

However, the home side made the points safe three minutes from time when Martin crossed perfectly for Maiga to head home from 12 yards. And two minutes later it was 3-0 to Sochaux when Martin again provided a dangerous cross for Bakambu to seal the result.
