Nasaf reached the semi-finals of the AFC Cup as goalkeeper Murod Zukhurov's penalty shoot-out heroics helped them edge out Chonburi at Karshi Central Stadium.
Leading 1-0 from the first leg in Thailand, Nasaf fell behind when Ney Fabiano pounced from a corner to even the quarter-final tie. With neither side able to add to the score, though the game went down to penalties.
Ivan Boskovic scored for the hosts, but Fabiano missed Chonburi's first spot-kick as Zukhurov denied the striker. Each side converted their next three penalties before Artur Gevorkyan wasted the chance to win the game when Sinthaweechai Hathairattanakool saved the Turkmenistan international's effort.
However, Zukhurov then stopped Therdsak Chaiman's attempt to send Nasaf into the last four where they will face Kuwait SC, who drew 0-0 at Muang Thong United to go through 1-0 on aggregate.
Arbil also secured a semi-final berth after Amjed Radhi struck with an hour gone at Francouse Al Hariri Stadium as the Iraqi's completed a 3-1 aggregate victory.
