A late goal from Geoff Cameron earned Houston Dynamo a 1-0 victory at FC Dallas in Major League Soccer. Cameron found the target three minutes from time to lift Houston one point clear at the top of the Eastern Conference standings. The Columbus Crew drop below Dynamo following a 1-0 loss at home to the Los Angeles Galaxy, who scored in the dying seconds through substitute Chad Barrett.

Dwayne De Rosario scored a hat-trick in nine minutes to lead DC United to a 4-1 rout of Real Salt Lake. The hosts were already in front courtesy of Andy Najar's 14th-minute goal when De Rosario struck after 22, 27 and 31 minutes to stun their opponents. Real Salt Lake's late reply came from the boot of Alvaro Saborio.

Dane Richards' strike (22) and a Luke Rodgers penalty (66) earned Red Bull New York a 2-0 win over the Portland Timbers, who had Khalif Alhassan sent off in the 65th minute. Juan Pablo Angel grabbed a brace for Chivas USA in their 3-0 victory against Toronto FC. The Colombian netted after 14 and 77 minutes, with Justin Braun (71) also on the scoresheet.

Two goals from Freddy Montero (63, 67) helped the Seattle Sounders on their way to a 3-1 win at the Vancouver Whitecaps. Camile had fired Vancouver in front after 22 minutes, but Brad Evans equalised from the penalty spot ten minutes later before Montero's double secured the points. Jeff Larentowitcz's 72nd-minute goal earned the Colorado Rapids a 1-1 draw against the San Jose Earthquakes, who had led after 18 minutes through Chris Wondolowski.
