Vasco, Sao Paulo stay on track
Vasco da Gama are a point clear of Sao Paulo at the top of the Brazilian Campeonato after both sides enjoyed 4-0 home wins.
Sao Paulo eased to victory over Ceara with Junior Juan opening the scoring on 42 minutes and Ivan Piris making it 2-0 just two minutes later.
Carlos Casemiro made it 3-0 on 66 minutes and Vitor Rivaldo completed the rout 18 minutes from time.
Vasco da Gama were similarly untroubled against Gremio, with Elton scoring after just three minutes and Diego Souza doubling the lead just after the half-hour.
Any hopes of a fightback were ended when Oliveira Eder Luis made it 3-0 early in the second half, while Conserva Fagner completed the scoring.
There was only one goal in the day's other game, Vitor Junior giving Atletico Goianiense a 1-0 win over Atletico Mineiro.
