Veteran striker Nuno Gomes scored twice as Braga maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a 3-1 win at home over ten-man Gil Vicente.
Gomes was picked up by Braga in the summer following his release by Benfica and scored his first goals for the club after coming on from the substitutes' bench. The 35-year-old former Portuguese international made an immediate impact as he broke the deadlock after 62 minutes before the visitors had Santana Eder sent off two minutes later.
Helder Barbosa added a second for Braga on 73 minutes before Gomes scored his second in the final minute. Claudio scored a consolation penalty for Gil Vicente in injury time.
Baba Diawara struck twice as Maritimo beat Rio Ave 2-1. Diawara opened the scoring on 13 minutes and his second on 57 minutes secured victory after Joao Tomas equalised with a 16th-minute penalty.
Feirense won 2-1 at Olhanense thanks to an 83rd-minute winner from Cris. Fernando Varela opened the scoring for the away side on 16 minutes with Salvador Agra netting Olahense's only goal after 57 minutes.
Meanwhile, Uniao Leiria defeated Beira Mar 1-0 with Jose Shaffer scoring on 69 minutes despite the late dismissal of Patrick.
