Feyenoord climb as PSV stall
Feyenoord maintained their unbeaten start to the Eredivisie season and moved up to fourth in the table with a 3-1 win away at NAC Breda.
Karim El Ahmadi's 60th-minute strike and a late John Guidetti penalty sealed the Rotterdam side's third win in five games after things had been level at half-time.
NAC, still searching for their first success of the new season, had led through Robbert Schilder after seven minutes, but Otman Bakkal's 37th-minute header began the Feyenoord's fightback.
PSV salvage draw
PSV Eindhoven remained fifth after they could only draw 3-3 with VVV-Venlo. PSV had taken charge through goals from Ola Toivonen and Dries Mertens, but VVV roared back with three goals in six second-half minutes.
Strikes by Ferry de Regt, Uche Nwofor and Maya Yoshida sent them ahead, but Wilfred Bouma equalised 14 minutes from time to ensure the hosts, who finished with ten men after Marcel Meeuwis saw red, only grabbed a point.
Utrecht sink Excelsior
Nana Asare's double helped FC Utrecht to a 3-2 win at Excelsior. Jason Oost sent Excelsior ahead on five minutes, but Utrecht headed into the break with the lead thanks to Asare and Ismo Vorstermans.
Excelsior had Samuel Scheimann sent off on 50 minutes and Asare's second seven minutes later sealed Utrecht's win despite a 70th-minute goal from Joost Broerse.
Finally, Heerenveen cruised to their first win as they saw off FC Groningen 3-0 at Abe Lenstra Stadion. The match was evenly poised until Ben Dost headed the hosts in front in first-half stoppage time. Oussama Assaidi added a second after 62 minutes before Filip Djuricic completed the scoring four minutes from time.
