Hamburg have signed Croatian midfielder Ivo Ilicevic from Kaiserslautern to fill the void left by Eljero Elia.

The 24-year-old Croatian international has signed a four-year deal with HSV, the club confirmed on their website.

The deal was announced only hours after Hamburg confirmed the departure of Elia to Italian giants Juventus.

Ilicevic scored five goals and recorded seven assists in 21 appearances for Kaiserslautern last season, having helped them earn promotion to the Bundesliga the season before.
