Hamburg coach Michael Oenning has received more bad news to accompany his side's poor start to the season, with confirmation that striker Son Heung-Min will be sidelined for over a month.
The Korea Republic international picked up an ankle injury in the 1-1 draw against Cologne at the weekend and tests today revealed he had torn ligaments.
"He will be out for approximately four to six weeks," said Hamburg's doctor Werner Siekmann on the club's website.
In addition to the torn ligaments, a build-up of liquid around the bone was also revealed by a scan, further complicating his recovery.
Son scored 18 goals in pre-season and has found the back of the net twice already in the Bundesliga, accounting for a third of Hamburg's goals in the first four games of the season. Hamburg currently sit at the bottom of the table with just one point.
