Reigning Swiss champions Basel recorded only their second win of the new Super League season after defeating previously unbeaten FC Thun 2-1 at home.

Basel, who had picked up just six points from their first six games, took control of the match through strikes from Alexander Frei and Fabian Frei at the start of either half.

Mauro Lustrinelli pulled a goal back in the 69th minute for second-placed Thun, but it was not enough to save his side from their first loss of the campaign.

Servette climbed into the top three after inflicting a 4-0 away defeat on UEFA Europa League participants FC Sion.

Servette had the points all but wrapped up after netting three times in the opening 24 minutes through Christopher Routis, Mathias Vitkieviez and Ishamel Yartey, and Vitkieviez completed the triumph with his second in the 65th minute.

The victory sees Servette move up to third, level on 11 points with fourth-placed Sion, who this week progressed through to the group stages of the Europa League after knocking out Celtic in the play-offs.

In today's other match, FC Zurich twice fought from deficits to beat Young Boys 3-2, with four of the goals coming in the final 16 minutes.

Alain Nef put hosts Young Boys ahead with strikes in the 24th and 83rd minutes, but FC Zurich took the points thanks to Dusan Djuric, an own goal from Francois Affolter, and Alexandre Alphonse.
